Robots in the city

Ah robot mugs I do so enjoy making them each one has a one of a kind drawing and no two are alike. I think that is a major thing I like about them especially when there are several collected together.

inspiration water

I have been looking for a way to make something that is just beautiful. I tend to lean towards narrative art and can get caught up in aways trying to tell a story. Well this time I just wanted to make something that spoke to a wide audience. I was thinking about ripples in a pond and how, for me is relaxing and interesting to watch. So I tried to capture that spirit in this bowl. I have many more with this glaze coming out soon. hopefully I can post some more soon.

I have some new bowls and cups, I'll be taking to the farmers market this sat thought I'd post some pics of them. I recently have been playing around with some simple glaze solutions to give some of my pottery a modern slick look. I like the idea of simplifying life, and this is an attempt to simplify my glazing process. Well for some pieces, I still like drawing the robots on some pieces but I've realized I can't spend that much time on all my work. And believe it or not robots don't appeal to everyone I don't know why it is a mystery. Well here are the pictures.

The Farmers Market

Saturdays I have been going down to the farmers market on High street here in Jackson. It does require getting up early but I love talking to the interesting people that come. I am also being introduced to better food choices and I want to do some more cooking in the future and hope to use some of these great ingredients. I also get to throw some pots, it has been a lot of fun, I'm gonna try to make this a regular deal.

I just got this guy out of the kiln the other day. He was fired up to cone 5. firing up to higher temp. I was hoping the colors would hold and they did, very happy about that. And this means this would be a great piece to go outside in a garden or flower pot the elements would not be a problem.
